We've been mentioning some thunderstorm chances over the past week or so all scattered around in clumps - and this chance for your Tuesday falls right in line with our thinking from last week. What we're seeing is a cold front moving through the area that will spawn some thunderstorms - and some of them could end up turning severe.
Remember that just because we say a strong storm is "more likely" doesn't mean it will happen for sure. There will mostly just be isolated showers and thunderstorms out there Tuesday and Tuesday night - until our cold front passes over and gives us a better chance for an organized line of showers and storms.
That image above is showing computer model forecasted precipitation - and you can see our best chances come Wednesday morning. The reason for that? That is when the cold front comes through the area. Whatever energy is not used up by the isolated strong to severe storms for Tuesday will be used up as the cold front comes through and lifts the air up. After that? Quick clearing! Don't expect it too early, but possibly by Wednesday night we could see some peeks of sun.
Have a great night & stay tuned to KDLT tomorrow!
