I don't know about you, but my allergies are going crazy right now! And no wonder, the pollen index has been high the past few days, and you can definitely tell that Spring is upon us.
This is a graph of the pollen index for the past month, a pretty steep increase over the past month... the snow's melted and the grass and trees are growing and budding, so while we may like the increasing temperatures, the pollen count is on the rise as well. And don't expect it to die down just yet.
Monday the bar will be high again, 10.6 on a 12 point scale - I need to run to the drug store and get some allergy medications since the past few days have been rough on the nose!
And yeah, med-high to high pollen will be prevalent in our region. Keep in mind, these are forecasts for Sioux Falls, but you can find the pollen forecast for your city
here. If you are wondering how they come up with their forecasts, they answer that in their FAQ section. Kind of interesting since they have pollen models and other types of things that meteorologist use except it's all geared towards pollen. Check it out!
