We mentioned the storm system moving through our area this evening in our last blog post - and now things have started to fill in. Look at this latest radar image for the whole north-south stretch of South Dakota:
If you look at this map, you'll notice a few of the storms are looking bigger than the rest. Those particular cells are ones we'll be watching tonight for the formation of a severe thunderstorm or two. We are already seeing a "significant weather advisory" issued for Hand county and surrounding areas.
This is a more zoomed-in view of that storm:
The strongest cell (at least as I write this) is located just a few miles to the Southeast of Highmore, and just a couple miles to the Southwest of Miller.
We'll update you if something needs to be updated, but for now just know there is a decently strong line of thunderstorms moving toward us.
