Well we had the chill to start off the day, and the winds didn't make today feel too warm either. But tomorrow will be warmer as far as temperatures go, well above average by at least 10 degrees across the board. You can see the darkest red creeps into our region by 6pm tomorrow, bringing in temperatures in the 90s. You can also see the wind barbs, especially in the South, they are suggesting another breezy day, so if you don't like the heat, you'll have a little relief.
We aren't going to be breaking any records however: Sioux Falls' hottest temp for May 18th is 97 degrees set in 1934; Huron's hottest temp was 104 set in 1934; Mitchell was 105 in 1934; Sioux City was 97 in 1996; Aberdeen hit 103 in 1934; Mobridge was 100 in 1934; Watertown was 99 in 1934; Sisseton hit 98 in 1934; and Pierre got up to 103 in 1934. Seems like in 1934 there was about a week where temperatures were 90 degrees and above, now THAT would be a heat wave!
