Well, as I write this I'm already starting to see things clearing up just a tad. While we don't have our skycam linked up to the internet, I can assure you I am currently seeing (and maybe you are too as of 6:20pm) a little break in the clouds over Sioux Falls.
This image above is showing some radar returns just to the west of Aberdeen. Those are some of the last snow showers showing up on radar, so the end is near if you are reading this from up north.
As for clearing? We really don't want it overnight because it lets temperatures drop - but unfortunately we are still going to get it. By around 10pm tonight most people west of the Missouri River will be seeing clearing skies - with those same clearing skies quickly moving toward the East into our area. It looks like by midnight-1am tonight we could be seeing some clearing patches and just patches of totally clear sky make it to about Sioux Falls and Watertown. Then? We get a sunny day for Wednesday.
Now... for that warming we mention in the title - it's actually coming! Disregard the nasty winter weather and look at this map for high temperatures Monday-Tuesday:
Those are computer model predicted 40s - 50s on their way! We'll be following that potential warm-up carefully, as 30s are not that far north and a slight shift in the atmosphere could cause them to drop farther to the South - but for now expecting mid to upper 40s is not out of the question!
Have a great night & stay safe! Avoid allowing your skin to be exposed in the ice-cold wind.
