If you can believe it, another blizzard is heading our way. I believe this will be number 4 for the winter season. It looks like its going to hit the north region again so heads up
Mobridge, Aberdeen,
Watertown, and
Sisseton. But the entire area will be effected and will
receive some snow and some wind. Well, the two things you need to get a blizzard is snow and lots of wind. Well, here is what we are looking for snow.
These models are showing a good 6-12" of snow across the north. But the south is a little trickier because the models have really been wavering in amounts. Could see as little as an inch or two, or in some cases, as much as 8 inches.
The other element you need to have to make a blizzard is wind. You can expect to be seeing those winds pick up in intensity late this afternoon and continue through your Tuesday and much of Wednesday as well. Here is what we are forecasting for winds for tomorrow morning, tomorrow night, and then again Wednesday morning.
Looks like winds will be sustained between 20-40 mph through much of the time period. Combines with very cold temperatures and you have all the makings of one very miserable day. Unless of course you like blizzards, then you're in luck.
