Cold Today, Warmer This Weekend

Bitterly cold temperatures today as they will be some 30 degrees below average today. 850mb temperatures are extremely cold for this time of the year as below average temperatures funnel into the upper Midwest. Here is a look at the 850mb temps this afternoon across the state today.Now compare these temperatures to the temperatures at the same level that we are expecting this weekend.

You'll notice a dramatic increase of over 20 degrees Celsius. This will correlate down to the surface and help temperatures get back into the 40's and 50's this weekend.
