Folks in the East won't see as strong winds as folks in central South Dakota because the front won't push into the East side of the state until later this afternoon. Winds will be out of the South for the beginning of the day, keeping temperatures warmer in the southeast. Here's a look at the peak sustained wind speeds for today on Futurecast:
At this point the front should be around the Mitchell area stretching up to Milbank. Winds will die down a little during the overnight, but it will still be breezy and that's what's going to keep our overnight temperatures from bottoming out. So while the winds will be to blame for a cooler feeling day... they'll be to thank for a less chilly overnight.
Watch the temperatures tomorrow take a major drop, highs are only going to be in the 20s and 30s... I'm sure Cody will fill you in more.
Say welcome to winter!
