Windy

Still looking quite windy for Friday as a cold front will push through the area today and begin to funnel in some colder air. Models like the one below, are still showing sustained winds 15-30 knots (20-40mph). Thursday and Saturday still look breezy as well with sustained 10-20 knot winds (15-25mph).

Also looks down right chilly for Saturday with cold air streaming in at the surface and aloft. This is an image of the 850mb (5000 feet) temps for Saturday afternoon. We look at these temperatures to determine potential temperature at the surface. with numbers from -10 to -12 degrees C, we can expect highs no warmer then the mid 30's across the I-29 corridor.

So, enjoy the more mild air today because it's not going to last.
