We've been slowly building up our knowledge base about this weekend's busy storm period. It looks like what once was 3 separate storms for the area has now merged into 2 separate larger storms.
As we head toward about midnight tonight toward the East we'll watch as the rain really kicks in - if not that early then by later on in the night toward Saturday morning. Either way - 0.5" to 1" or so of rain is not out of the question for anyone.
After tonight into Saturday we'll look for more rain through the morning - gradually building to the East and fading to the West. Then we look for just mostly cloudy skies through Sunday evening with a few chances for a sprinkle or light patch of drizzle. The interesting part? Some slightly dry air moves into the middle of the atmosphere by Saturday evening - so don't count on sun, but don't be too surprised to see a couple brief peaks of sun around the Southeast.
Then we look for *more* rain (the 2nd batch) to come through Sunday evening to overnight into much of the morning and first half of the day on Monday. Another 0.5" to 1" or so is not out of the question with this 2nd batch of rain as well.
The final analysis? Expect lots of rain! Throw your umbrella into your car & you should be fine through the weekend. We'll update you as necessary should any thunderstorms turn a bit stronger than we're expecting. Have a good weekend despite the rain!
