That northerly wind is dropping those temperatures which are labeled in the red.
Clouds could also hang tough through the mid levels. This image below is a forecast for relative humidities during the afternoon hours at 500mb (about 12000 ft).
This shows that there will likely be a good layer of clouds through much of South Dakota which will hold those temperatures down a bit as well. Catch the seven day forecast on our newscast because it looks like summer may be holding off just a bit longer.~KDLT Meteorologist Cody Matz
