Get ready to see your plants and grass explode with growth this Saturday... especially if you live in the South or Southeast... that's where we have seen rainfall totals ranging from 0.4" all the way up to about 1.1" in some areas... It's definitely helping to eat away at the rainfall deficits we've seen toward the Southeast.
In the Sioux Falls area - by midnight last night (Thursday-Friday) we saw a deficit of 4.28" of precipitation on the year. In the Sioux City area they saw nearly a 5" rainfall deficit and now just over an inch and counting of rainfall is helping in that region as well.
The good news is that sunshine and warmth return for Saturday, and a while on Sunday.
That map above shows clouds for a little after midnight tonight... and you probably don't see many in the area. It is pretty rare that we show an empty map - but in this case it seems like we're about due!
Have a great weekend, and look out for scattered showers toward Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned to KDLT for more information on those this weekend!
