Woman Survives Lightning Strike In Car... And Wind Today - Storms Tomorrow?

It's a busy period of weather... but we're going to try to get to all of it. First off - if you have a spare minute or so, you should watch this news story from NBC in Florida. A woman was driving and her car was struck by lightning - it did some impressive damage to the car, and luckily they were unharmed:

Less riveting than that story is that of the wind today - with sustained winds reported of 17mph at the airport in Sioux Falls. I had first-hand knowledge of these winds today as I tried to ride a road bike into a headwind near the airport. Without the wind I was going 18-22mph - and with it I was held back to about 13-14mph while peddling as much as possible.

So there's that wind in action - but the big deal for the next couple of days will be the cool weather and the rain. Right now we're looking for rain to hold off Wednesday to the East until around dinner time. A few showers could sprout up before hand - but if you're reading this west of Sioux Falls, you can expect showers likely near lunch time.

We'll have a timeline of the rain tonight at 6 & 10pm... so make sure you watch KDLT tonight, and definitely tomorrow too, for updates.

I can't believe someone can survive a lightning strike.
