Strong Storms In The Area

It's been a busy night here in the KDLT Weather Center... we've seen numerous tornado warnings, as well as plenty of severe thunderstorm warnings and several batches of just standard thunderstorms moving through the area - but most of these have added up to a non-standard night, with wind damage, hail damage, and flash flooding around the area.

This video was from my personal digital camera as I watched the storms come into the area. You can see a pretty ominous picture from the clouds to the strong winds.

We've seen several reports now of standing water on 57th street in Sioux Falls, as well as a viewer report that their windshield was cracked by large hail on the north side of town. Something else you might see tonight are downed tree limbs. This is one we shot just outside of the station...

Something else you might have seen tonight would be flash flooding... this was another picture showing some flooding along Westport Ave.

We have more viewer pictures that have been coming in, and we'll be posting those in between tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings, so stay tuned!
