Severe Risk Starts the Week

After our very quick bout of severe weather early this morning, we've got another round on the way for tomorrow. The day will start out calm, especially in the East - plenty of sunshine and a relatively humid day. In the afternoon is when severe weather will spark up in the west and move eastward throughout the evening hours, mainly after 8pm. (I honestly don't know why they didn't put a moderate risk in western and west-central SD due to all of the energy that's going to be available tomorrow, but this active weather pattern is really tricky to pinpoint what's going to happen when) The main threat is going to be hail and wind with this system, tornadic cells are more of a possibility in western and central SD. As a cold front swings through, winds will switch to being from the north, and they'll pick up, pushing this system, rain and storms included, out of our area by 1pm on Tuesday. The east will see the rain mainly overnight on Monday (thunder and lightning definitely going to be going on as this system moves) and sticking around through Tuesday morning.

Cody and Aaron will give you more updated information tomorrow as things unfold, so keep checking in.
