We've started talking about it again - the potential for snow! Unfortunately, at this stage of winter that is not exactly what people are looking for. The key disclaimer for this one: watch to see if it's all snow or a rain/snow mix - then these maps that follow will not be right and we'll see much less snow.
Here's what one more short-term type of model thinks for snow on Saturday-Sunday:

Notice the little 8" area toward south-central South Dakota. This is one model I really don't typically put a whole lot of faith in - and this formula used to predict the snow totals is not always accurate in either map, either.
Here is what one more long-term type of model is thinking for the same period:

This model seems to be a little closer to reality - with close to 2-3 inches of snow toward the eastern portions of our viewing area. Just a taste of things to come... stay tuned as we head closer to Saturday!
