Details On Storms For This Weekend - And More On Our Facebook Page

Well, we mentioned last night that we were up on Facebook - and now we are. Click here to get there (or type in this: http://www.facebook.com/pages/KDLT-Weather/69313757925). You can also search for KDLT Weather on Facebook and get to our TV Show page as well.

Now... as far as the warm-up is concerned - we saw some pretty good melting going on today. Those 40s we saw in much of eastern and southeastern South Dakota went a long way in melting most of our snow (at least in Sioux Falls - there is still more snow toward the North and the South...). What can you expect now? Well, a LOT of warming! The snow reflects most of the sunlight back up, but once it melts - the ground is very receptive to sunlight, so we're looking good for 50s on Thursday.

The bad news is that we are looking for a couple storms again, starting this weekend. This is one extended-time computer model's take on the storm come Saturday night late into around the midnight period of early Sunday:

If you image those colors as more of a "future radar" type of image, we can expect some showers of some sort early Saturday night - likely to be snow or a rain/snow mix. We'll see. For now we're looking at that - and another storm trying to show up down the pipeline for Monday night to Tuesday. We'll see how that one develops as well over the next couple of days.

For now, just enjoy that warmth! It is going to be feeling mighty nice out there for this coming Thursday!
