2 Storms Coming? Plus, Cool Animation Showing Massive Floating Ice Chunk.

Well, Cody & I have been talking about this big storm system heading our way over the past few days. We'll be seeing humidity and thunderstorm potential (see the posts below from the last couple of day), but now it looks like we're going to see quite a bit of rain divided into a possible *two* storm systems. The first will likely arrive Sunday afternoon to evening, and the second is more disorganized for now & looks to arrive Monday afternoon to evening. It's possible we could see rain from Sunday through Wednesday!

Here's a model prediction for Sunday night:

If you pretend that those colors are "future radar" you can expect some decent amounts of rain Sunday night! Then round 2 comes Monday to Tuesday and potentially even into Wednesday!

Here is something more of interest - but not forecast interest, aside from how close we are to spring. A satellite image showing Green Bay off of Lake Michigan shows what happens after a windy day in the bay. Look to the north side of the bay - you can see a huge chunk of ice breaking off the main area.

Click here to see an animated GIF showing the progression - I recommend it because it looks even cooler!

That's it for tonight! Have a great night!

Is this storm system going to get severe???

It is a possibility. We'll be keeping a close eye on this and post any severe weather potential on the blog to give you warning. For now, just know there is a slight chance in the more southern/eastern portions of our viewing area starting around Sunday and lasting until around Tuesday - hopefully this system will continue to sort itself out over the next 24 hours so we can get you a more clear-cut forecast.
