Snowstorm #1

The snow's on it's way... blizzard warnings are in effect for much of Northern South Dakota... again - snow isn't the main concern for this big system - it's the winds. The highlighted magenta oval is where the strong winds are right now... they'll be here just around midnight. So in the meantime if you have errands to run or places to get to - push your plans up to as soon as possible since Monday is going to be nasty! I was telling one of our production assistants who is moving up to Brookings for school to hold off moving until Tuesday morning to let the winds die down... I'm serious - you will NOT want to be on the roads at all in the overnight hours and through most of Monday. Oddly enough - I haven't received any school closings just yet - but it is only 8pm, we'll see how many will end up closing, bus stop conditions won't be good at all, if the kids do have school - make sure they are bundled up. This is the official definition of a blizzard, so expect these conditions in the North and a less severe but still nasty version of this in the South.
I'll try and update this storm once the snow works a bit farther into our area.
