Snow Today

More snow coming in today. We keep getting these little clipper systems that bring a couple inches of snow and nasty winds but its definitely that time of the year for it so its not really out of the ordinary. This particular system won't be anything like the last one with the blizzard conditions. But we can expect some snow and lowered visibilities. Here is what a couple of the models are forecasting. Keep in mind that the models tend to estimate too much snowfall for these clipper systems. The first picture has been the general consensus from the models for the last couple of days. However, this morning, one of the models produced the second picture you see. This model nearly doubled the total snowfall. To give you a scale, the blotches of white inside the dark green areas indicates 6 inches of snow. The first picture only has 4 inch blotches. Now, I am choosing to throw this model out because it is so much different then all the others. So, we can expect 1-3 inches of snow with maybe a couple local spots in the northeast getting 4 inches. Enjoy the snow and stay warm!
