We've been busy watching the radar this afternoon as storm after isolated thunderstorm have formed and moved through our area. We have seen a couple of brief severe thunderstorm warnings - but these are more of your typical mid-summer style storms than an organized severe event.
You can see a few storms on radar over Hand county, in SW Minnesota, and also scattered around Brookings and beyond - so quite a few, but right now (5:09pm) no severe ones.
We did run outside and snap a couple of pictures - including a trial panorama picture - of a storm you can see on that radar image in SW Minnesota.
It looks pretty impressive - but doesn't have a severe thunderstorm warning over it at the point when this picture was taken.
What we're watching is the possibility of some severe weather for Tuesday/Tuesday night. There is a decent enough chance for thunderstorms in general centered right around eastern South Dakota into SW Minnesota and NW Iowa - but we're hoping and forecasting that the severe ones will be more isolated and less widespread. We shall see - and make sure you stay tuned to KDLT for your Tuesday and our KDLT Weather Blog.
Have a good night! We'll update you if anything warrants it!
