Dew Points Incredibly Low

I walked into work this monring, turned on my computer, looked up a current surface map, and my mouth nearly hit the floor. Below is an image of surface conditions about 1:30am this morning. What just floored me was the low dew points in some areas especially, the one I circled. This time of the year we see lows typically in the upper 40's and low 50's. That is due to two reasons; nights are shorter and moisture is higher, AKA dew points. With the rule that the temperature can never go below the dew point, lows will be higher with more moisture present, AKA South Dakota in the summer. But with dew points as low as they were last night, temperatures can go extremely low for this time of the year. Now, thankfully we had some clouds move in overnight and the nights are quite short so we didn't have a whole lot of time for temperatures to drop. Otherwise this could have been a freeze situation in the month of June. The latest freeze ever recorded in Sioux Falls is on June 7. But all I know is that a 17 degree dew point this time of the year should be some sort of a record.
