Now THIS is something I would have liked to do today, too bad Aaron is in the Bahamas, otherwise maybe I could have! It does look a bit gloomier as our next system has already started to edge into the state, we saw more sunshine earlier in the day. This is one of those days where I'm okay with my high temperature forecast being off by a few degrees - you really can't complain about 70+ degree highs in Mitchell, Yankton, Sioux Falls, Brookings, Watertown, Marshall, Worthington, Sioux City, and Spencer, so basically everyone along and East of I-29 saw some pretty good warmth today. Definitely won't be able to do this tomorrow... like Cody said, we could see some pretty decent rain amounts from this system compared to what we've seen the past few days. This is a capture around 7pm on Saturday, so the more moderate to possibly heavy rain will occur during the evening. Some of this will remain Sunday morning and exit our region by about 1pm.
So have that umbrella handy, I'll be keeping my eye on this system, but we aren't expecting any severe weather as all of this rain will be wrap around rain, any severe weather will be to our extreme south. We'll just be looking at some locally heavy rain - mainly in the south 1/2" to 3/4". Lighter amounts to the north, just around a 1/4" of rain should fill up the rain gage.
April Showers are definitely here! (And if you don't like them - the work week looks sunny and dry) So there's a little something for puddle jumpers as well as balloonists - is that a word? :)
