Not
meteorologically speaking, but there always seems to be a bubble around Sioux Falls whenever we see a rain event, this is just one capture of the radar but it literally looked like this for quite a few scans during the afternoon. I don't know what it is about Sioux Falls, maybe it's the urban heat island effect but I don't think that's it. For a good three hours all that rain was moving to the
NNE, but once it hit the Sioux Falls region it would dissipate and then reorganize once it got north of Sioux Falls.
Eventually the rain did hit Sioux Falls as you can see by this radar capture, but I still think it's a funny phenomenon. I'll post rainfall totals tomorrow.
