We just got off the air, and I'm seeing some pretty heavy snow falling on our skycam. Look at this radar image and you can see why:
The good news is that it's heading toward the Southeast, and will be out of Sioux Falls soon. Not such good news for those of us to the southeast of Sioux Falls, but it will be short-lived.
This was the forecast map from our 6pm show - you can see how totals lined up with the "nowcast" from about 6pm to early Wednesday morning:
It seems like at least in the first hour things have been going well with our snowfall forecast...
If you're watching us from the northern and northeastern portions of South Dakota you've probably gotten even more snow. We've gotten reports of 3-4 inches of snow, with some locally heavier totals too.
