So... just in time for us to make graphics for last night's snowfall totals, we already have a new mini-storm to talk about. So, here are yesterday-today's totals from this morning:
That picture is actually one I ran outside and took this afternoon, so you can see we definitely got enough to almost cover up the grass.
Now we are watching as our next batch of snow comes toward us... It doesn't look like we'll get anything more than about 1/2" - maybe a few spots will pick up 3/4" or 1" but those will be rare. One thing we are looking for are those patches with heavier snow, known as "banding." That's usually where you get the heavier totals. You might recall hearing us saying something like "most of us will get about 1-2" of snow, but a few of you will get some locally heavier totals." Those of you under the heavier areas of "banding" will be in the locally heavier areas.
Here is an example of a radar image near Aberdeen from just a few minutes ago (around 6:30pm tonight):
It would be nice sometimes to hear from people under the heavy bands - like the town of Leola in McPherson county as I am writing this.
Have a great night and make sure you plan on brushing off your car tomorrow morning before work or school!
