We've been watching as the computer models develop our incoming storm for Saturday night to Sunday. That one doesn't have a ton of moisture, but it will have enough to give a lot of us around an inch or so of snowfall. Definitely stay tuned to KDLT to see what our weekend meteorologist Jesse Ritka has to say about this next storm system.
Here is what the latest computer models would say about the snow for us if we trusted them 100%:
1-2 inches of snow in the Sioux Falls area seems to be the model consensus, and based on what we've seen over the past few days from the models and reality, that doesn't seem to be a stretch. If you look closely at those two images above you'll notice that there is a bit more snow forecast toward the NE corner of South Dakota along with west-central Minnesota. Those areas might be looking at 2-3 inches of snow for Sunday. We'll have to see.
Aside from all that - it's going to be cold out there this weekend! Welcome to winter (even though it doesn't officially start until the 21st of December)! Have a great weekend and be sure to bundle up.
