As for the snow, Aaron gave you a hint at some of the totals that we are expecting across the state from tonight through your Friday. Well, things still look on target for that because the low is developing right where we thought it would, right in the center of South Dakota. This is a map of the current surface conditions across the U.S.
The heaviest of the snow still looks to fall in the Missouri river valley where we can expect 6-10" of the white stuff. Looks like the I-29 corridor will dodge the heart of this storm with places in the Northeast expecting 2-5". Southeast South Dakota can expect 1-3" and much of Iowa can expect little if any accumulation. Blizzard watches and warnings have been posted for areas East of the James river so I would highly advise against any travel in those areas tonight or tomorrow. Stay safe!KDLT Meteorologist Cody MAtz
