Blizzard #3

It's here, the third big blizzard of the winter season... I'm sure you're all so excited about shoveling once again. The snow isn't going to be as much of the issue with this storm, even though some moderate snow bands are still pushing through our area. As we've been saying, the winds are going to be the key with this storm - visibilities have already tanked across most of South Dakota, thus why we have blizzard warnings in effect for tonight through Thursday morning. This snow is so light and fluffy that it's easily picked up and blown around, so even though the snow is going to stop by the time we get into the overnight hours, it won't look like it because of our wind speeds. Here's a look at them currently, can you tell where the end of this system is? Probably because you can see a major shift in the wind direction as well as a huge change in the wind speeds. All of our viewing area will be seeing an increase in the winds as this system heads southeast, and that's what's going to kick up the snow, drop the visibilities and just make things nasty out there. Stay safe!
