Roads Closed Still . . .

We've had over 175 school closings this morning, so many kids are enjoying the snow day, but if you do let them go outside, make sure you bundle them up and don't keep them out for much longer than 10 minutes due to the nasty winds and wind chill values, expect them to be -25° to -40° throughout the entire day. The winds are whipping the snow around on the roads as well, portions of I-90 are still closed this morning. Crews are out working on I-90, so far, they've opened it up from Rapid City to Chamberlain. Here's a release from the Department of Public Safety:
"PIERRE, S.D. - Department of Transportation crews continue to work to clear on other sections of I-90, which remains closed from Wall to Sioux Falls.Officials remind motorists that as stretches of highway are re-opened,winter driving conditions will exist, including some snow packed and slippery areas and perhaps some drifting.
Officials with the state Departments of Transportation and Public Safety will continue to assess road and weather conditions to determine when other segments of interstate could be re-opened.

The snow has stopped, but the winds are showing no sign of decreasing this morning through the afternoon hours. We'll be seeing roads looking like this throughout most of the morning:
Stay safe if you must travel!
